Solovair boots and shoes are made at the NPS factory in Wollaston, Northamptonshire — the same factory, same lasts, and same machinery that produced the original Dr Martens from 1960. Founded in 1881 as a worker cooperative of five shoemakers, NPS has been making Goodyear welted footwear at their South Street factory for over 140 years. Each pair takes 12 to 16 weeks to complete by hand.
When Dr Martens moved most production to Asia, the NPS factory kept making boots exactly the way they always had — under the Solovair name. The result is a boot with the heritage and construction quality of the original British-made Dr Martens, refined with Solovair's own Soft Suspension sole for improved comfort and durability. Recent collaborations with Carhartt WIP, Noah NYC, and Golf le Fleur reflect the brand's growing reputation beyond traditional workwear.
